Who will be Premier League Top Goal Scorer?
September 15, 2013
It is crunch time in the Premier League and as the race for the top spot intensifies, so is the glory for the golden boot. Last season saw Manchester United’s Robin Van Persie edge out Luis Suarez in one of the most dramatic conclusion to the Premier League following Suarez’s ten match ban to lift the golden boot award. Suarez’s woes continued as his ten match ban spilled over to the start of the season missing the first six matches leaving the likes of Giroud and Sturridge to dominate the goal scoring charts. Wounded but not out, Suarez kick started one of the finest run of games terrorizing defenders and goalkeepers and after a string of excellent performances, he has managed to reclaim the top spot. What is more surprising is the six goal difference gap between him and the second placed top goal scorer, Daniel Sturridge, who is coincidentally his team mate.
Luis Suarez is a player who has shown a great deal of consistency coupled with determination and his thirst for goals is more than enough to make him be the top goal scorer. However, should he get injured or fall victim to another indiscipline issue, expect Daniel Sturridge to carry the day.
